Supreme Court Justices John Roberts, Antonin Scalia, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Anthony Kennedy

1.  Going beyond the two sides of the street (separated by police) in Murietta, California, there is more than just the opposing viewpoints generated by Border Patrol (Homeland Security Transport) buses.  Here is a buffet starter for your thoughts:

2.  This op-ed in today's LA Times is just another, but probably more credible piece since it comes from a guy a NASA, about the drought in California.   Just the other day, I was down in Orange County on the south side of Irvine, and saw a wide swath of ground preparing for the construction of new high-end homes.  Where is the water going to come from.....and do the developers care?   At my home in Claremont, I have replaced the lawn with drought-tolerant plants, and done what is possible to conserve.  I still do not see much of any action to get a real handle on the problem by our city, county, or state.  Maybe the lack of action is tbecause the political will to do anything is already trumped by the business and economic interests of going on like California has been for the last 200 years:

If we bred people with half the sense we breed dogs, there wouldn't be no Republican Party to put up with.  No lawyers, either.
