The Electoral College appears to be the big challenge for Harris in winning the election. Heather Cox Richardson explains the history of the original concept which made the Electoral College's way into the Constitution. Over the years, this has been a political hot potato. As the trending polls go, Harris appears to win a narrow election, but it is going to be the classic battle in the swing states that settles it. As I sit here at my desk, I keep on wondering why it is that a person sitting at his or her desk in Wyoming or Montana has a vote that is of greater value than me. It defies the one-man one-vote concept - even that phrase is mired in the antiquity of the Constitution. Am I, or are we afforded equal protection? If it is possible, this matter of the Electoral College could be worked out (or be eliminated) if Trump and the down ballot offices are won in convincing fashion by the Democrats. With control of the White House and Congress, good things cold happen. Then, reformation of the Supreme Court would be the next challenge. Just sayin'......
Garrison Keillor takes us away from the angst of the division and pains of our current state, and in a few short minutes we are in his "what me worry? world":
Thom Hartmann, a new contributor, is already with his obituary after a big loss by Trump. Wishful thinking on steroids?
