Remembering Labor Day, which is today - the first Monday is September. "Celebrating" this holiday is not quite the proper term. We celebrate the 4th of July, and we really get into it on St. Patrick's Day. The times like National Pickle Day and Purple Tulip Day, and a host of other commercials are just stuff for TV news anchors to talk about instead of just "Happy (you name the day)". When we get to Labor Day....it has a special significance because it is the day set aside to pay tribute to the history of all of the working women and men of all who have overcome the hardships of being employees when employers we not very nice. Yes, it is also a day for organized labor (aka "Unions)" to comment about the hard times made better. HCR delves into some of the history of this day:
