Something to Know - 28 August

The "sprint" or the continuing flow of sludge (depending on your political party) to election day is operating as one would suspect.   Trump is doing everything he can to maintain some antics to get his share of exposure.  As HCR points out, he is still flexing his grifting playbook by selling his form of bubble gum baseball cards.  He just has no shame.   Anyway, against the advice of his handlers, he is making a big spend to run his pro-trump ads in the Mar-a-Lago area, which is not in play, while he is losing in the polls where the contests where political ad spend is necessary.   He is hosting a gala celebration and fundraiser for the January 6 mob that was convicted, and he is hawking shoes, cards, and junk at the same time while he is running for president.   Jack Smith rearranged the charges, and now a solid indictment is being processed to charge him for various crimes he committed while president that were surely not part of his official duties.   Well, all in a day of events about which you should know.

Andy Borowitz:

Finishing of with Garrison Keillor and a brief look at some our historical mistakes as well as what to do with all of the tawdry memories of Trump when it is time to create a site for a former president who was something we would all like to forget about:
