Something to Know - 29 July

HCR packages up the highlights of the $1.2 Trillion bill that is slowly chugging its way through congress.  It will be a tough squeeze, but so was the last bid deal.   I think it is quite interesting that it is the Jim Crow GOP who are dead set against one part of the bill that is being presented to fund the IRS to a sufficient level to investigate and get tax cheats.   Yes McConnell and McCarthy are there to protect those who cheat on taxes; now we can really see who they are.   Not all news is anxiety-producing politics - how about this.  Two nights ago, a flock of birds landed in my front yard - as seen here    Then, exactly 24 hours later, at 2130 - they all flew away.   Here's three cheers for the Claremont High School Cheer Leaders.

Three things to ponder for today:
  1. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
  2. You're never too old to learn something stupid.
  3. I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.
