Our system of government is based on the concepts of Democracy. It's not easy right now as the assaults by the myopic and authoritarian Jim Crow babies run amok though Republican legislatures. At some point the ugliness of it all will converge on our sensibilities of what is right and wrong, and hopefully move on to better days. Acknowledging the Tulsa Massacre of 1921, the critical study of racial theories, and knowing that we need to do better is necessary. We have not been as good as we should have, by knowing that we were wrong in the past, and learning that there is a better way forward is what we must struggle through. I, for the life of me, cannot understand how a smiling Florida governor can in good conscience sign a bill that prevents trans-gender teenagers from competing in athletics in public schools. Is it so bad that Crow Babies need to put the helpless and voiceless down so that others may smile and feel better? Go figure:
Hitching one's wagon to a star was Ralph Waldo Emerson's advice for setting a high standard goal.
However, when a political party is all in on hitching its wagon to Trumpism, one has to wonder what
goal is being set for such a lowly mark.
