Journalism is an essential part of our democracy. This piece by Steve Lopez of the Los Angeles Times explains why we need it, and why it is essential that we preserve it. The who, what, why, and where of reporting is what cuts through everything and is the mirror into what we see as truth. Investigative reporting goes even deeper in to delving into the ethical relevance, or lack thereof, of where things go wrong and peels back the layers of obfuscation so that we can maintain a transparency of the events of our daily lives.
