Things to Know - 8 April

1.  It is very difficult to see any progress being made in this country.  All progressive efforts in civil rights, human rights and dignity, inclusiveness in prosperity and the political process are all being rebuffed, repealed, and eliminated by a dim-witted and dangerous element that has sneaked in with money and corruption to kill the American Dream:

2.  Mike Huckabee is taking on Rush Limbaugh on the same time slot.  Let's see how this works out.  Maybe Limblow's days are over.   I have read where his targeted listing audience median age is "deceased":

3.  As this article points out, anti-choice and anti-immigrant laws are popping up in states that are feeling the effect of demographic changes.   The established residents in these states are perfect targets by fear-mongering politicians looking for something to stir up the base.  Over time, the tactics exhibited by the conservative republicans will be held accountable by the same demographics that they demonize:

4.  Among Willard's many weaknesses is his apparent ignorance of technology.  He comes up with false statements and outright fabrications (better known as lies), and expects them to float unchallenged. Well, they are challenged by any number of sources of scrutiny, and he is called out for them.  The one piece of technology that he really is not aware of is the recorded audio-video record of what he has said in the past.   Those gaffes and fabrications will haunt him later on this year, if they are not bugging him now.   He must think that every new day is just another door bell being rung at a home on his mission to spread the gospel:

5.  Jesus is getting a lot of attention today.   The spotlight is even falling on the Masters in Augusta, and the subject transitions to the GWOW (Global War On Women) - as only Maureen Dowd can do:

6.  Change of pace. It caught my attention.  Comparing cruising on the high seas today to what it was like in the days of the Titanic.  We always meet starboard aft for nutrition:

7.  The demons from psychological conflict are just as lethal as bullets and IEDs.  In the Middle East, medication is used to soothe the conflicted mind to the point that lives are wasted:

8.  The city of Los Angeles is similar in many respects to the other large urban centers in this country.  Memorable riots and racial strife haunt the history of this truly cosmopolitan and diverse city.   The changes in the attitudes of the police and citizenry are largely responsible.  In rebuilding, however, there is one key paragraph in this article that refers to education, which is really at the core of what is wrong with America and where it is trending these days:
