A few days ago I heard muffled helicopter operations in the middle of the day. I used my Flight Tracker app on my smart phone to trace the source. I could not locate any transponder activity of helicopter operations anywhere in my area of Los Angeles and San Bernardino County. I was not able to understand what was going on. Yesterday, my wife told me that she was hearing news stories of Pentagon operations in our communities. If you find this unusual or suspicious, you may want to investigate further:
In early June 2026, the U.S. military conducted realistic urban warfare training exercises across several Southern California cities, including Pasadena, Long Beach, Arcadia, and Irvine. The unannounced overnight drills featured low-flying helicopters, rappelling troops, and controlled explosions. [1, 2, 3]
The covert nature of the exercises and the short notice given to local residents prompted significant community concern. Key details of the events include: [1, 2, 3]
- Pasadena and Arcadia: Drills were primarily staged at the former St. Luke’s Hospital. Operators from the U.S. Army Special Operations used aircraft like MH-6 Little Birds and MH-60L Black Hawks, alongside simulated gunfire and flashbangs from 8:30 p.m. to roughly 1:45 a.m. The late-night disruptions drew heavy criticism from local city council members and frightened residents who were given only a few hours' warning. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Irvine and Long Beach: Similar operations took place in Orange County near the FBI's Jerry Crowe Training Facility and in East Long Beach. Local law enforcement stepped in to manage traffic and pedestrian safety during the four-hour operational window. [1, 2, 3]
- Operational Security: Details regarding the exact military units involved and the specific goals of the mission were not broadly released due to operational security concerns. [1]
