All over the internet you will find claims that Mike Johnson is a Christian nationalist who thinks we should live in a Biblical republic. As far as I can tell, this clip from an interview is the sole evidence for that claim— and it ain't much:
I also hear that he's a young-earth creationist and a Biblical literalist. Depressing, but not surprising. After all, the Founders were, right? Okay, except Paine. And Jefferson. And Franklin. And others. But at least we can say with confidence that not one of them had read any Darwin. Except maybe Charles's grandfather Erasmus.
