Something to Know - 19 September

With the sounds of the funeral for Lilibet in the background, I contemplate what to write about today.  I am trying so hard to stay away from the upsetting news (it is unhealthy for me), so I find other stuff to occupy my time.    I do get snippets here and there about what is going on, but I decline to venture deeper.   One story that has really bummed me out was one that I saw in a magazine (is its name) and I get it without ever subscribing, and have no idea why I do get it.   There is a short two-page article on this thing called the ARstorm, written by Peter Kieffer, from a UCLA study.   It's about an apocalyptic deluge that would bring rain to the greater Los Angeles basin that would render everything under water from the coastal cities, going inland up to and including Rancho Cucamonga, leaving the whole area behind as one large lake.   That is one huge area.  This could happen in either a few years, or maybe in 70 years.   Depressing, to say the least.   And now, the snippet of news that a bunch of MAGA folks in government state that they may or may not accept the results of the November election.   It would be better, if I just ignored all matters MAGA, and just watch all the sports programming on TV, where when the athletic contest in either football, baseball, basketball, etc. is over, the final score is the result that everyone lives with, and there is nothing about one team not willing to accept the loss because they don't like it.

Have a good day!
