HCR, through her expertise as a gifted historian, presents a viewpoint on Capitalism that needs to be understood by all. With all the newsworthy importance of CRT (Critical Race Theory), the insurrection of January 6th, the Republicans who continue to suppress voters rights, and the Big Lie, we are mired in the Underbelly of Capitalism. Don't get me wrong, the historical importance of understanding CRT, and what voter suppression means to our democracy needs to continue, nothing will happen until public policy results in legislation fixes the problems. And...I don't know about you, but I really do not want to see another video of insurrectionists beating the hell out of Capitol Police and attempting to overthrow our country; it is all upsetting. CAPITALISM, is an economic system that has deep flaws which need to be monitored, revealed, and fixed. As HCR points out, the problems are deep, and have been supported by a political system that incorporates the successes of exploitation. We need to fix them, and if it is done right, the other problems that we currently have could possibly be ameliorated. We need to understand what the Underbelly of Capitalism means, and how it is seriously hurting a fair and balanced economic civil society.
Three things to ponder for today:
- Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
- You're never too old to learn something stupid.
- I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.
