Something to Know - 20 December

I NEED YOUR HELP - ALL OF YOU

I have actually created a petition for the Obama Administration to consider.  I did it through their "create a petition" on Whitehouse.gov.   It asks to reword the 2nd Amendment to clearly empower the government to regulate firearms.  It is not a ban, or specific action, just a rewording of the Amendment.  You may have seen what I have written already, concerning the revision.  The link to the petition is below.  If you agree with it, please sign.  This petition is active through the 18th of January of 2013.  If it does not obtain the necessary 25,000 figures by then, it stops right there.  I may just wasting time and making futile moves, but I am moved to try, and ask for your signature.  If the spirit moves you, please forward this on to others for additional signatures.  Thank you.

This is the wording of the petition:  (as noted, I already signed it).   Go to the above noted link to sign.

Revise the wording of the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution to clearly regulate the ownership of guns.

The 2nd Amendment is in need of revision to better regulate the violence of gun culture that is a result of flawed composition at its inception, which has allowed interpretations harmful to the safety and well being of our nation. The petition is to address what was written, and to suggest the rearrangement of the wording to allow for the regulation of arms:

AS WRITTEN

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

AS REVISED

The right of the people to keep and bear arms with a well regulated militia for the security of a free state shall not be infringed.
