Things to Know - 16 May

1,  The shameless John Boehner and his reckless agenda.  There is no other excuse or name for him.  He took this country to the brink of ruin last year.   He wants to do it again.   He wants to reduce spending, but at the same time continue and increase tax cuts for the wealthy.  It;s time to vote him and his cronies out:

2.  Alabama and several other right-wing legislative bodies have pretty well tarnished any progressive and humane trappings that the Republican Party could ever hope for.   Something is wrong in this country.  I might suggest that a bill be put forth to take all of the documentation that calls our assembly of tribes as the sovereign nation of "The United States of America", and just call it the "States of America".   Only trouble is that a bunch of yahoos would relish that action:

That's all for now.  Got back late from our 1-week trip, and have been slightly out of daily contact with the news.  TIme is needed to rev and spool up to what is going on.  I'm reading Rachel Maddow's book - DRIFT.  Good read so far.
